Fast forward a few weeks and he still had the cough but now his nose was leaking green stuff. Back to the doctor we went. Breath sounds were good, snotty but he wasn't laboring to breathe. His ears were clear and he had no fevers. We were given a perscription for an antibiotic to clear up a sinus infection. That was Wednesday of last week. By Saturday his eyes started to water and yesterday he had green stuff coming out of them. Oh, and he was running a low grade fever. I called his doctors office and they said to bring him in to the office today.
Back to Los Alamos we went (35-40 minute drive), after mom took a test and got an "A." Today both of his ears are infected. He was given a different antibiotic, since the other one wasn't doing much for his issues, some ointment for his eyes and an appointment to follow up next week.
On his way out of the office he was waving and blowing kisses to everyone. Even though he's not feeling well, he's still his loving, adorable, happy self.
Happy stuff:
He's SUPER helpful. He likes to carry groceries in from the car. He also helps to carry the humidifier tank into his room, after it's been filled. He's getting very good at putting his toys and books away.
He learned how to say apple and sign it on the same day. He says, "bapple" and then does the sign. It's super cute. He adds more words to his vocabulary each day. In the last few days it's been: sit, sorry, muah (followed by a blown kiss), hat, eyes, nose and hot dog. He finds it particularly funny when you make a dramatic sneeze (real or fake) "AAAAAAAHHHHHH cho!" He'll start the sneeze and wants you to finish it.
Warning: This next two stories contain poop! Funny poop, but poop none the less. If you are sensitive, be warned and don't feel bad about skipping over these stories. I won't be sad. I think they are hilarious and I can't wait to tell his girlfriend when he's older!
Poop story #1. A few weeks ago O took an early bath and we wandered downstairs to play, naked. He loves that slide and decided he was going to go down it, naked. Which creates an interesting situation to explain to a 17 month old. His little butt created too much friction and he wasn't able to go down, until he figured out to go down on his belly and basically flop off. He did this a few times and then stood at the bottom of the slide for a second, squatted and POOPED ON THE CARPET!!! I ran to get the wipes and my mom just sat on the couch laughing as he started to walk around to the stairs of the slide. The poop was stuck to his but and had gotten on his leg so I started saying, "Don't get poop on the slide!!!" And my mom was laughing so hard, she was crying. He didn't understand me and started laughing with grandma. I wrestled him to the ground and managed to get all of the poop before any hit the slide.
Poop Story #2. Just the night before the pooping slide O took a bath as usual and was wondering around the bathtub. I didn't think much of it. Until the next morning, when there were a few little terds in the tub. He takes a bubble bath everynight and he didn't make a peep when he pooped!
Sometimes it's like having a puppy around the house! You just never know where the poop is going to be found!
The community college has a toy lending library where parents can check out good, clean, age appropriate toys for up to a month. I stopped by last week and picked up a few toys. He loves turning the knobs on the kitchen and there's a push toy that makes great noises. They also had a pint-sized chair that he loves to sit on.
We send our love to all and blow kisses your way!
