It's always something...

We went to see Owynn's ear nose and throat doctor this morning.  His ears look great!  The tubes are still in place and there was a little fluid in the right ear but nothing to be concerned about.  And then there's his tonsils.  The PA said, "WOW, his tonsils are big."  Much to my dismay.  Please, doctor and nurse friends, don't use a phrase like that when the parent has NO IDEA that's going on.  Before his surgery his tonsils were at a +1 our of 4.  Now we're at a +3 out of 4 with a score of 4 meaning that his tonsils fully obstruct his throat and airway.  Good times.  He hasn't been sick and has no fever so there's nothing to worry about at this point.  If he starts mouth breathing or snoring or develops fevers associated with those tonsils, they will most likely have to come out.  Otherwise, we'll go back in 3 months for another check up.

With this fun information in hand we came home and Mommy gave him some ibuprophen for it's anti-inflammatory effects.  This explains why he hasn't been eating too well, lately.  Well, besides the two new molars that came for his birthday.

On a fun note, he learned how to "smile" today.  Someone at the doctors office said he had a cute smile and O looked at me puzzled.  So we learned how to smile and it's the cheesiest, cutest smile ever.

Also, while at the doctor's office, he named their fish Bill.  He kept saying Bill and I had no idea what he was talking about until he walked over to the big fish, I said fish, he said yeah, Bill.  There are some other fish in the office that he was saying hi to and calling them fish.  I guess he decided this one needed to have a name.

Yesterday we went to the park to play and see our friends, Andrew and Ryan.  O quickly discovered a water bottle that didn't belong to him.  He picked it up and started to drink from it, as I was running over to stop him.  He didn't like this plan of action and yelled and cried as I took the water bottle away, explaining that it wasn't ours and we shouldn't drink from strange water bottles.  I had to put it up high because he wouldn't let the idea go, that he needed to drink from it.
He stood there crying for about 15 minutes before I finally had enough.  He couldn't be distracted.  Even going to play in the car didn't work.  He ran back to the cup.  We finally fought our way into the car seat and went home.  Man was that a rough one.

Love and hugs to all.
