Spiderman Hurts

On Monday, O and I went back to Hanger Orthotics to pick up his shoe inserts.  He likes the toys there.  Which is good.  Because he wasn't a fan of the fitting process.  Or wearing them.  Or keeping them on.  Or putting them on the next day.  Or the day after that.  He took them off at one point telling me, "Spiderman hurts."  Because they have Spiderman all over them!

Being THE MOM, I said, "You have to wear them.  We can take them off when we get home.  Wanna go to the train park?"  He forgot about wearing them shortly after that.

That was the closest he would let me get with the camera

The inserts fit over socks and inside shoes.  The make his shoes super fat.  And as soon as he started walking his toes turned in, just as the orthotist said they would.  Day #2, he ran with them on.  We will see how Day #3 goes.  I'm optimistic.

We go back in two weeks for a check up and then again in six months.  Michael, the orthotist, said he thinks a year will do it!

Oh, and someone has gotten too tall for his 2T jeans so we are wearing 3Ts with the cuffs rolled up and the waist cinched in as far as it goes!  Tall and slim isn't a size choice.
