Christmas Eve 2014

The week before Chirstmas, Owynn went to Santa Fe to be with Nana and Yaya.  I had to work every day but one before Christmas Eve.  O and I drove to Cuba, NM, which is half way between Santa Fe and Farmington.  We met Yaya, who had driven through a blizzard to get there, made the exchange and off he went.  His cousins, Sebasitan and Sammy were going to be spending some time with them as well.  O went to a Christmas party, to the zoo and got a stocking!

When Nana texted this picture to me, I saw such a change in my boy.  He has no trace of baby O.  He's all growed up and looks like such a big kid!

O had been counting down to Christmas since we put up the first decoration.  He was SO SUPER excited about all of it.  And it was so much fun for me to share the season with him.  It was quiet in Farmington while he was gone.

Christmas Eve came.  Owynn, Nana and Yaya came back that afternoon.  Uncle Tom, Aunt Liz and Cousin Sarah came to town to visit as well.  Unka Max, Sebastian and Sammy also joined us!  We had a houseful for sure.  O had been playing with Sammy all week and it didn't stop when they got here.
 Everyone enjoyed the piano

O thought it was great fun to chase Sammy through the middle of the house.  Until, he wanted to be chased by Sammy.  I tried to explain to him that if he stopped for a few seconds, Sammy would be chasing HIM.  He didn't get it.  Then, Sammy stopped to catch his breath.

We all went to church for the evening service.  We all got settled into our seats.  The music started and the choir director said, "A Prayer."  Owynn responded,
Dear Faver, We Love you.  We want to make you happy.  We're sorry when we don't listen to you.  Please, help us to love one anover.  Give us everything we need.  You are a wonderful God.  Amen" LOUDLY.  I love this kid!

All of the children got called to the stage to go through the Nativity story.  There were dolls.  And O was the kid who sat down and raised his hand.  I'm REALLY proud of him for raising his hand.  That is proof that daycare has worked wonders for him.  He is patient!  The first time he was called on: It's December.  It snow outside.  Cheryl responded:  Well, it is December, let's hope it does!  The second time he raised his hand, he asked to pull a puppet.  He was picked to pull the wise men.  He was SO excited to pull three dolls!  And he held on to them for dear life.

At the end, all the kids got candy canes and returned to their parents for the remainder of the service.  And O was SO excited to be able to read the words on the screen for all the songs.  And the lighting of the candle was a highlight as well.

We headed home, put on jammies and passed out until the next morning.  But, not before lining up all of our presents by name.

Merry Christmas and may you all be blessed this season!
