Owynn has been trying to drop down to one nap for a few weeks and yesterday (Thanksgiving) was no exception. He's been napping in the morning and then talking through his afternoon nap time. So he woke from his morning nap around 11:30 in the morning and we had our feast set for 3pm. I had a feeling this event wasn't going to work so well for him but sometimes you never know. Mommy prepared pies and cakes days before and set the turkey to brine the night before. Guests were bringing side dishes so there were only a few things to do to finish preparations. Owynn tried to help with all of it! Around two o'clock he was getting kind of squirreley and cranky so we went to have a bottle and try another nap. He rested in his crib (talked to himself A LOT) for thirty minutes until his friends started to arrive. Owynn was having a great time until EVERYONE made it. Then he got tired and didn't want to eat but didn't want to play, either. He was a bit overstimulated. The dinner was a success for the grown ups, none the less. All of the dishes were great and there were no disasters, unlike last year's turkey debackle. So, Owynn went to bed early and without a turkey feast. Just some milk. Maybe next year!

O is now walking about 50% of the time. And he's learning how to crawl down the stairs backwards. He's adding more words to his vocabulary: six, okay and bye-bye is a favorite. He's signing a few more things but I think he has them meaning something other than what they mean. That's okay, at least he's communicating! He's getting to the point where he wants to do things on his own. When I try to carry him down the stairs he whines until I put him down so he can crawl down.
We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We are so grateful for all of our family and friends. We are blessed in more ways than we can count and do our best everyday to deserve them all. May you be blessed in more ways than you can count, daily!
