Christmas. It's the most wonderful time of the year! This year Owynn was interested in opening presents and visiting with Santa Clause. Our church had their holiday performance on the Sunday before and it sounded lovely. From the foyer. We had worked our way up to sitting in the sanctuary for 20 minutes. Two weeks away and we are back to 3 minutes in the pew. Oh well. Practice makes perfect.

I was sick early Christmas Eve morning and Nana and Yaya stepped in to take care of Owynn while I recuperated. Thank heaven for grandparents! Santa visited our house and on Christmas morning, some small boy got the point of opening gifts. I asked if he wanted to open the boxes and he smiled and said, "Yeah!" Once he had the gift wrap off he said, "There you go." And had such a proud look on his face. He found that he was the new owner of a basketball hoop and Little People amusement park, among a few other things.

The greatest gift has been the basketball hoop. We went to visit our friends, Nina and Mike, and Owynn ran into the biggest dilema of his 2-year-old life: stay home and play basketball or go with Mommy. It took him a good 10 minutes to decide. Finally, he settled on taking the basketball with Mommy. When he woke this morning he asked about, "basketball in hoop?" And up the stairs we went to play basketball.
The holiday isn't over for us. Our cousin, Tarlo, is coming to visit Grandma Molly in Albuquerque and we will practice opening gifts again!
We do hope everyone had a lovely holiday no matter the place or circumstances. We love you all and miss you tons!
XOXO
