A Trip to Texas

Our GreatGrandma lives in Ft. Worth with our Aunt Barbara.  She will be 98 this year and is not in the greatest health.  She was supposed to come visit us a few weeks ago but her doctors said that flying wasn't a great idea.  So we decided to go see her.  And we decided it would be more cost effective to drive ($250 for gas) than to fly ($254/person round trip).

We packed up and left Santa Fe on Saturday and drove 8.5 hours down to Dallas.  Owynn was a champ!  He watched videos, read books, ate snacks and never complained once.  Neither did he have any potty accidents.

We did a lot of swimming and playing with GreatGrandma's dog, chased the kitty everywhere and played with all of Aunt Barbara's toys.  We played with cousins and went for bike rides.  We spent the night with our friends, the Barney's.  They have a son who is 6 months younger than O, Gabe.  They are best buddies and love hanging out.

It was a great trip and I'm glad we had the time with our family.  We are so fortunate to have wonderful friends and family to visit in other parts of the country.  Thank you all for putting us up and playing with us!

If you're in Texas, hit one up.  They have great ice cream.

Owynn needed to practice blowing out candles for his birthday.

Hard to see but he's put on a wooden clog.  It almost fits.

We visited with our friends the Barney's and O fell in love with T-Ball.  I couldn't convince him to turn the bat around.

Sheriff Owynn

And we found a 4-wheeler

We went for fro-yo and Brian was in the back with the boys.  His shoulders didn't fit between the two seats.  hee hee

We went to the library and saw Mr. Mark Twain.  O told him to "turnapage."  And when he wouldn't, Owynn told me it was broken.

Owynn's mustache was awesome!
